Okay, so that’s 2 questions in one. Don’t hold it against me. Instead, please suggest a cleaner (or a home-made recipe/solution) for cleaning and shining stainless steel small appliances (coffee maker, panini maker, barmen’s toolset, and some others) and for how to get set-in stains out of a small oriental rug. Don’t know the composition of the stains; they’ve been there for awhile. They are on a white-ish background. Thanks!

All of my small appliances are stainless steel and they all have spots on them. I have tried a variety of cleaners but nothing seems to work. What is the best cleaner or home remedy that will work for this? I would like for them to look like new. Thanks!

I have been looking to get some new kitchen knives. I have found that you should look for a high carbon stainless steel and a full tang. I found two sets on sale at my local Herberger’s. The first set comes with more pieces, but is less expensive… can anyone see a reason that the second set would be more expensive?

Here’s the third set I’m also considering:

We’re going to purchase a set of Chicago Cutlery this weekend, and I’m not sure if I should buy the wooden handled knives, or the stainless steel handles. We do use the dishwasher a lot, but I’ve never owned a set of stainless steele handles.

Anyone know pros/cons of each?
Thanks for all the tips! I don’t think ANYONE from the US answered, amazing, I get help with knives from overseas…:)
